Project 1000 On Small Unit of Rainwater Harvest.

Aims to end water crisis and conserve environment, and economic empowerment in rural communities in Monduli 2025/2026

In 2024, we raised more than $52,000 which enabled us to deliver 128 tanks and other rainwater harvest equipment to 128 families (BOMA’s) to empower them to be able to harvest rain water at their BOMA to improve their sanitation, their livelihood and solve a community crisis of long walk distance to fetch water.

After the deployments of these tanks, those who already get it, their life is ready transformed and currently are great role models in the community since they have access to clean water, are spending their extra hours in their small income and economic activities.

These observations from other community members made the number to double from 540 to 1080 bomas who desperately now need this help.

Our Water harvesting solutions cost is ~$600 which is unaffordable for most Maasai community members. In our campaign we subsidize $400 and the remaining $200 will be contributed by the local Maasai family/community to ensure an ownership mindset. Now, we have 1080 people who are currently ready to contribute $ 200 and our Organization to assist them with $400 per project.

We firstly started by using AI and satellite imagery to map the living locations from where Maasai women walk 9-12 hours to fetch water from Nanja Dam and prioritize those locations.

Through the support and donation from multiple people this program has already helped Maji Wells provide 128 tanks to 128 Maasai Boma (3000+ people) creating time and opportunity for children to attend school and women to generate income from other activities.

In 2025 and beyond, we are planning to support 900 BOMA, which means we will need 900 tanks ($400 x 900 = $360,000). This will make a total number of 18,000 people to access clean and safe water in rural Monduli Arusha Tanzania.

In general, our plan for 2025 is to raise a total of $360,000 that will enable us to deploy and deliver 900 tanks between September 2025- March 2026 (8 months) to enable them harvest rainwater during the rainy season that will begin from December- April. It will make a total number of our project to reach 1,000 and being to successfully bring 20,000 people clean and safe water.

This made the name of this Project to be Project 1,000

On behalf of the 18,000+ Maasai community members, we are requesting for your help and high consideration in assisting us by sharing with your friends and networks on our campaign to raise any amount that will assist us to deploy the total goal of 900+ tanks for these people.

Donate to help us to deploy 900 tanks for this community to end water crisis.
