Water Projects
Background
785 million people lack basic access to clean and safe drinking water. We’re on a mission to change that.
Water is the foundation of health and independence, and has an immediate impact on every part of rural life. In remote villages of Africa, women walk more than 10 miles per day to go fetch water. The water is not Clean and Safe for human use but no alternative.
Maasai villages are one of the most disadvantaged groups with poor access to clean and safe water in Africa. About 90% live in rural Kenya and Tanzania and do not have access to clean and safe water. The Maasai Women are walking more than 18 miles per day to fetch water that is not suitable for human use, yet it is the only option. They spend almost 12 hours per day searching for water for their daily needs and can generally only gather 40-80 litres for their entire family, as well as their livestock and crops.
